The Ottoman governor Mahmoud Nedim Bey is considered one of the most important Ottoman governors who played a decisive role in the modern history of Yemen. He was the last Ottoman governor in Yemen, and his period witnessed the demise of Ottoman rule in Yemen, and even its demise as a state whose control included the Arab region, including Yemen. This study aims to trace the major role played by the Ottoman governor, Mahmoud Nadeem Bey, in preserving the Ottomans’ properties in Yemen during the First World War, and trace the role he played in transferring the Ottomans’ properties in Yemen to Imam Yahya Hamid al-Din, and to know the ways and means that this governor followed to achieve this goal. The research also concerned itself with studying the dimensions of Mahmoud Nadim Bey’s personality, and clarifying the situation in Yemen and his personal situation after the end of World War I.
