Notes The Hisbah is considered one of the important institutions in the country from an economic standpoint, as it played a prominent role during the Islamic State since the time of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and ending with the Ottoman Empire, and this importance has continued until our present era in some Islamic countries. Based on this importance of the hisbah, this research paper is divided into three sections. The first section briefly defines the hisbah institution and explains its position in the Holy Qur’an, the Sunnah of the Prophet, and Islamic economics, and the tasks and powers of the hisbah. The second section explains the relationship between the hisbah and economics, by explaining its role in monitoring and organizing markets, its position on pricing and monopoly, and then monitoring products and evaluating their quality. As for the third and final section, it seeks to highlight some of the applied works that have been written on hisbah. These works were from various centuries, beginning with the book “Ahkam al-Suq” by Al-Kinani (289 AH) and ending with the book “The Marks of Proximity in Ahkam Al-Hisbah” by Ibn Al-Akhwa (729 AH), where seven of the books were analyzed in different eras, the issues and topics in them were studied, and the approaches of their authors were analyzed, in terms of their words on hisbah. Applied, far from theoretical talk, such as the book “Market Rulings”, which is the product of many issues that took place practically in the market and were posed to Ibn Omar, so he based them on them and provided solid answers for them, and other books such as the book of Al-Shaizari, Ibn Abdoun, and Ibn Bassam, who detailed the discussion of the role of hisbah over the owners of industries and trades, and the market rulings of fraud, deception, monopoly, pricing, and the prevailing transactions surrounding them in the market. Keywords: hisbah, Economics, control, applied literature.
