Notes	This research sheds light on the economic situation of the Gaza region during the first four decades of the rule of the Ottoman Empire, and shows the success of the efforts made by the state to increase its financial revenues from the region. The primary sources on which the study relied showed that the comprehensive renaissance included various economic activities. In the field of agriculture, grain cultivation became active, accompanied by an interest in planting trees and caring for useful animals such as livestock and beasts of burden and riding. This was accompanied by a boom in commercial activity, and Gaza City became one of the main commercial centers on the trade road linking Damascus. And Cairo, and commercial facilities revived in the city and some villages located on the road, such as markets, Qaysariyat, and khans. The various fees were discussed, especially customary fees such as protection, the bride fee, and the padhwa. The phenomenon of endowment was also discussed as a manifestation of economic life in the district.
