Notes Culture is an extremely important part of the human structure of human society, and the book is its eternal masterpiece. There is no civilization without culture, and no real and continuous cultural extension without a book. The book - and libraries later - constituted an opportunity for Kuwaiti society to communicate with others, within the framework of a rational image, that enriched its human experience, in a historical moment characterized by civilizational shock, due to the increasing degree of its interconnection and interconnectedness with others, especially during the period between 1912 and 1952 AD. Intellectuals and enlightened people, in Kuwait, made huge efforts to facilitate their society’s representation of the changes that were occurring in the region and the world, and the ideas that founded them. It was expressed, and its echo is echoed in books, which they spent dearly and preciously to obtain from its source. Thus, the cultural awareness of Kuwaiti society grew, in light of political openness, with the beginnings of the decline of Ottoman influence in the region, which turned into a theater for the conflict of foreign powers, without having the ability to confront these conflicts. The aspirations of Kuwaiti society can be monitored through the positions of many intellectual figures who contributed to the establishment of an intellectual-cultural movement, called for the establishment of schools and the adoption of modern educational methods, and established associations, libraries, literary forums, and newspapers.
