| Notes | This research revolves around maritime activity in the three Ottoman states against European commercial ships. The research focuses on the policy of the Ottoman state in the field of development of the activity of (maritime jihad), which is known as maritime piracy, indicating the extent of the impact of piracy on European commercial activity. After 1730, the three states controlled the exercise of a monopoly on export and import, and among them they rejected the presence of European merchants without obtaining a license and the acceptance of the central government in Istanbul. |
