Notes This study dealt with some of the administrative and legal aspects and the social and economic conditions in the Karak Kasbah in south-eastern Jordan, through the book of decisions of the Governor of Rights in the Karak Court in the period between 1919 and 1922 AD, in an attempt to monitor the most prominent features of the administrative and judicial structure and the social and economic patterns in the region in that period, including the laws in force in trials, jobs, administrative terminology, lawyers, taxes and fees charged by the court, as well as the names of clans and families, and social titles at the beginning of the Emirate era. East of Jordan, or the titles held by their owners in the late Ottoman rule, as well as the types of professions, agriculture, animal husbandry and their products, urban areas, forms of trade exchange, and the money and weights used in that period in the Karak Kasbah. The study showed that the decision books of the rights courts in the courts in eastern Jordan are a living historical record through which historical material can be formed that sheds light on the features of social and economic development. It records the lifestyles of residents from various fields, and their ways of living and housing, and has never been used as a source in previous studies. The study followed the descriptive analytical approach, and relied on the data and information contained in the record, on the basis of classifying, tabulating, and extracting them based on the main topic of the research.
