Western European nations Since the end of the century, they have gradually increased their economic activities in Asia, Africa and the Americas. In this process, modern economics, which emerged as a Europe-centered science, from mercantilism to liberal and socialist economic approaches, influenced almost the whole world. The Ottomans were naturally affected by this process. However, it can be said that, starting from the early modern period, the most meaningful and comprehensive alternative concept to this European-centered modern economic understanding was developed by the Ottomans, who increasingly continued their commercial and economic relations with these nations that were neighbors with Europeans and were increasingly influential in the world economy. In this article, the Ottomans' conceptions and approaches in this field during the emergence and development of modern economics and finance are discussed. There is no doubt that the discovery and determination of the Ottomans' experience in this field will add an important and meaningful expansion and richness to today's alternative economics and finance studies.
