Notes Molla Gurani completed his scientific education in today's Iraq, Turkey, Syria and Egypt by taking lessons from the leading teachers of his time, such as Ibn Hacer and Makrîzî. His commentary titled el-Kevseru'l-cârî ilâ Riyâdı ehâdîsi'l-Buhârî is the first Bukhari commentary written in Anatolia. XV. Al-Kevseru'l-cârî, written in the second half of the century, is important in that it sheds light, albeit partially, on the hadith sources that were widespread in the scientific environment in Istanbul and its surroundings at the time it was written.
