The study sheds light on the history of the southern Levant, at the time of the military conflict between the governor of Egypt, Muhammad Ali Pasha, and the Ottoman Sultan Mahmoud II, and how Muhammad Ali Pasha subjected the Bedouin tribes to his areas of influence in Egypt, early in the launch of his campaign to the Levant, despite it being devoid of any Ottoman army or force in that era. The study used the historical, descriptive, and comparative approach, relying on documents from the Egyptian royal archives. The study concluded that the southern Levant, with its Bedouin tribes, had an important role in creating events and in Muhammad Ali Pasha’s military calculations to complete the occupation of the northern parts of the Levant. The study recommended that researchers make appropriate efforts to study the documents of the royal archives, in more depth, in the various economic and social aspects of the region in particular, and the Levant in general.
