Notes
The research examines the importance of the role of the sheikhs of Islam in making decisions in the Ottoman Empire in the political, social, and religious aspects because of the importance of these decisions at the level of the state’s performance. The research attempts to reveal the importance of their role by not limiting their activity to the jurisprudential level, as it extended to their influence in making decisions related to political and social affairs in addition to their religious role.
