The study showed that surveying and registration operations are among the most important procedures carried out in order to determine and confirm land ownership, and the development of its sizes during the study period. Over the years, special departments were established to undertake these tasks, starting with the Land Registry Department, passing through the Survey Department, and ending with the Registration Department. The work of this department was welcomed by the residents because it preserved their rights legally. Perhaps the most important results of the survey and registration operations is documenting the process of development in the size of land ownership. The area of small properties amounted to 36.2% of the land area, owned by 85% of the owners, while the area of medium properties amounted to 34.4% of the land area, owned by 11.58% of the total owners. As for the owners of large properties, they constituted 3.42% of the total owners, holding 29.4% of the land area. Surveying and registration operations also led to the tightening of state control over the lands in the Emirate of Transjordan, and the elimination of the chaos that prevailed in land ownership and its unlawful seizure. The implementation of laws related to land settlement from 1923 AD until 1946 AD led to addressing the defects that marred the Ottoman land laws, and a system of liberating and separating agricultural lands was established. Land ownership was also determined in the names of its owners according to fixed, final, non-challengeable title deeds after passing through all stages of settlement. In addition to the above, the implementation of these laws was accompanied by the reorganization of land titles offices and the establishment of registration and cadastral directorate departments, which took upon themselves the responsibility of implementing these laws and applying them appropriately. This era witnessed the clear definition and confirmation of the rights of disposition, benefit, and sale of land.
