The research deals with an issue of great importance; Especially in the context of the political and social changes that the world is going through. And this idea is the idea of the other, which has attracted the attention of thinkers, philosophers and historians In this study, we deal with the issue of the Ottoman (other) in the literature of European thought. The issue of the Ottoman (other) has emerged on the basis of which many political and cultural attitudes towards the East in general. The research deals with the development of the idea of the other in European culture, first in chronological manner, and then with an analytical approach. Through a selection of different samples that include historical and oriental writings. The research aims, through this proposition, to reveal the payloads of this second, West / East.
