Notes
This research aims to know the nature of the relationship between the Qasimi state and the nobles of Hejaz, in the second half of the eleventh century AH / seventeenth century AD. Based on some manuscripts, documents, books, and scientific theses, the study showed that this relationship oscillated between courtship and friendship at times, and tension and conspiracies at other times. It also made clear that the transfer of the governorship of Mecca was dominated by intense family competition between peers (i.e., a conflict between a class and its counterpart). Throughout the period of the nobility's rule over the Hijaz, in many cases, Mecca was ruled in partnership between two classes or families. This period witnessed the fluctuation of the relationship between the nobles of Hejaz between their loyalty to the Ottoman Empire and the Qasimi state. The researcher used the historical, analytical, and descriptive approach. In an attempt to shed light on the nature of this relationship, the research was concluded with a conclusion that included the most important results.
