Notes
The first period in which the Ottoman Empire made conscious imports from Europe was the "Tulip Era" between 1718 and 1730. During this period, ambassadors were sent to many countries in Europe, especially to examine their education. But the biggest and most effective innovation of this period was the printing house opened together by İbrahim Müteferrika and Sadi Efendi. The article provides information about the identity and ideas of İbrahim Müteferrika. It is emphasized that his influence was not limited to the printing house, but that he gave the first news about the Renaissance in Europe by printing works on sciences that could be considered new for the Ottomans.
