We can say that the Baban emirate was one of the most powerful Kurdish emirates that ruled in Iraqi Kurdistan and was able to impose its control in the Kurdish region. It established its presence and influence after it took the city of Sulaymaniyah as a strong base after it was built in 1784 AD. Its establishment was considered one of the most important urban events in the period of Mamluk rule in Iraq (1750-1831), which was characterized by administrative chaos and that the emergence of Abd al-Rahman Pasha Baban had brought Kurdistan into a dangerous stage whether On the political and military level, we learned of his personal ambition, to build his own state in the Kurdish region, and also through his relationship with the good Persians, which were suspected by the Ottoman government and that he entered into a violent and bitter conflict with them, which had a great impact on the Baban emirate.
