Although it is known that the art of calligraphy reached its perfection in Anatolian lands during the Ottoman Empire, it is obvious that Seljuk thuluth has a writing aesthetic that cannot be ignored. Inscriptions from the Anatolian Seljuk Period were mostly preferred in decorating architectural works. One of the most used places for these writings, which are concentrated on the crown gates, mihrabs and pulpits, is the inscriptions. Inscriptions giving information about the person who commissioned the architectural work and the date of its construction; It is mostly placed on the entrance doors of buildings built for religious, civil and military purposes. The inscriptions, which were initially the imprint of the building, became works of art due to the development of calligraphy in Islamic civilization. The inscriptions of the buildings built during the Anatolian Seljuk State provide an important opportunity to determine the stages through which the Seljuk thuluth went through. In this article; The inscriptions found in the buildings of Kütahya during the Anatolian Seljuk Period were examined. Inscriptions located in the buildings in the center of Kütahya and its districts; It is mixed in different types of buildings such as masjids, bridges and baths. First of all, the inscriptions were transcribed; however, the texts in these inscriptions; It was evaluated in terms of letter anatomy and stacking aspects, and its place in the history of calligraphy was tried to be revealed. While it is widely acknowledged that the art of Islamic calligraphy in Anatolia flourished during the Ottoman era, the aesthetic of Seljuk thuluth writing is undeniably compelling. The calligraphies that belong to the Anatolian Seljuk period were mostly preferred for the decoration of the architectural works. One of the most frequently used locations for these writings is in the inscriptions found on the crown door, altar, and pulpit. Inscriptions, which act as identifiers for the building, are crucial for the information they convey, alongside their aesthetic value in the art of writing. In this article, the inscriptions found in the buildings of the Kutahya period of the Anatolian Seljuk Empire have been studied. Inscriptions can be found on different types of buildings, including mosques, bridges, and baths, in the center of Kutahya and its surrounding districts. In the first place, the descriptions have been transcribed. The inscriptions' characters have undergone analysis based on letter anatomy and stacking style, and their position in the history of the art of writing has been explored.
