Notes {AR}It is worth noting that I chose to study examples of the endowments of noble Qur’ans belonging to freed women from the Alawite family. For many considerations, perhaps the most important of which is: that no researcher - as far as I know - has discussed publishing and studying them before, and these endowments are considered to be of great importance. It sheds light on the names of freed women from the era of the Alawite dynasty who participated in the field of charitable work and the endowment of the Holy Qur’an in Egypt at that time. Their endowments are one of the prominent physical evidence through which we can identify the social and economic status enjoyed by the freed women of Khedive Ismail, and the nature of the relationship between them and the aforementioned Khedive. The matter does not stop there only, but we can learn about the artistic divisions and decorative methods used in the study Qur’ans, as well as their calligraphers and artistic schools. To determine the archaeological and artistic value of the suspended Qur’ans; Which helps us in arriving at the status of freed women in Egyptian society at that time, and their social and economic status that enabled them to endow precious Khaza’in Qur’ans without other freed women from the era of Muhammad Ali’s family. As for the study methodology: the research relied on the historical method based on description, analysis, extrapolation of texts, and analysis of their contents. To reach results that may help us - God willing - to achieve the objectives of the study. One of the most prominent results of this research was that it demonstrated the contribution of the freed women of Khedive Ismail in bequeathing the Holy Qur’an to members of the royal family. They bequeathed precious and gilded Qur’an manuscripts handwritten by skilled calligraphers who were apprenticed to the great Ottoman calligraphers at the time. {EN} It is worth noting that I chose to study examples of the endowments of the Holy Qur’ans belonging to Ma’atoqa (freed) from the Alawite family. Where it sheds light on the names of female detainees from the era of the Alawite family who participated in the field of charitable work, and the endowment of the Noble Qur’ans in Egypt at that time. Besides, their endowments are considered one of the prominent material evidence through which we can identify the social and economic status enjoyed by the freed slaves of Khedive Ismail, and the nature of the relationship between them and the aforementioned Khedive. In addition, we can identify the artistic divisions and the decorative methods used in the Qur’an under study, as well as learning about its calligraphers and their art schools, to find out the archaeological and artistic value of the endowed Qur’ans. This is useful in figuring out the status of Ma’atoqa in the Egyptian society at the time, and their social and economic status, which enabled them to donate precious Khazine Qur’ans, of whom only they could do that from the era of the Muhammad Ali dynasty.
