Notes
Treatise on medicine by Yaḥyā ibn Abī Bakr ibn Yaḥyá al-ʿĀmirī (Yahya ibn Abi Bakr ibn Yahya al-Amiri, d. 893/1488). Contrary to what is suggested by the title, the treatise deals not only with
materia medica
(covered in the introduction), but also with diagnosis and therapy.
On the title page (f. 1r), the name of the author appears erroneously as Yaḥyā ibn Bakr al-‘Alawī (Yahya ibn Bakr al-Alawi), and the
nisbah
has been corrected to al-ʿĀmirī (Al-Amiri) in the margin.
The copy was completed on 21 Shawwal 1058/8 November 1648.
Contents:
Introduction, ff. 2r-12v;
Section One: Specific illnesses (ff. 12v-??);
[Section Two] (ff.??-39r);
Conclusion (Conclusion, ff. 39r-44r).
The text is followed (ff. 44v-47v) by a collection of notes and prayers.

Ends (f. 44r, lines 10-14):
Then he died, and the fire did not feed him, and he said: Teach your dead that there is no god but God, and he said
Whoever says his last words: There is no god but God, will enter Paradise, may God conclude
Seal it for us with the spirit, basil, forgiveness and contentment
By satisfaction, you are merciful, generous, and generous. May God bless you
May peace and blessings be upon our master Muhammad and his family and companions
