Notes	Very popular textbook of arithmetic by Bahā’ al-Dīn Muḥammad ibn Ḥusayn al-‘Āmilī (Baha al-Din Muhammad ibn Husayn al-Amili; d. 1621). The treatise contains numerous diagrams and tables (ff. 104v, 105r, 105v, 106r, 109r, 109v, 110v, 112r, 118v, 119r, 122r, 122v and 124v). The text is defective at the end, lacking the final eight lines of the edition of Galal Shawky (Aleppo: Institute for the History of Arabic Science, University of Aleppo, 1976, pp. 152-53). Beginnings (f. 103v, lines 2-3): We praise You, O One whose collection of blessings is endless in number and endless in multiplication Divide it into a period, and we pray for our master Muhammad, the Prophet Al-Mujtaba, and his family Ends (f. 135v, lines 16-17): ... The sixth is one-third of the squares of the proportional Its sum is the square of the seventh, a radical if it is added to it
