) by Abū ‘Alī al-Ḥusayn ibn ‘Abd Allāh (Abu Ali al-Husayn ibn Abdullah), known as Ibn Sīnā (Ibn Sina, latinised as Avicenna, d. ca 1037), extracted from his philosophical encyclopaedia the Kitāb al-shifā (The Book of Healing).
The treatise is divided into ten sections, the last of which is defective at the end in this copy.
Beginnings (f. 179r, lines 4-6):
Khair Al-Mabadi said: What is adorned with praise to the Giver of power for all His praise and blessings be upon Muhammad
His Prophet, His servant, and his pure family after him, and after him, had it not been that the habit had been tried for the youngest.
