Notes	A manual on the principles of navigational theory by Sulaymān ibn Aḥmad ibn Sulaymān al-Mahrī (Suleiman ibn Ahmad ibn Sulayman al-Mahrī, fl. 16th century), here called al-Muḥammadī (Al-Muḥammad), an Indian Ocean navigator from the city of al-Shiḥr (Al-Shiḥr), Yemen. The treatise is arranged in seven parts (sections). This copy was completed on 15 Jumādá II 1153/7 September 1740 at Ṣuḥār (Sohar, in the Sultanate of Oman) by ‘Abd Allāh ibn Aḥmad al-Ma‘qilī al-Sa‘dī (Abdullah ibn Ahmad al-Maqili al-Saadi; see colophon Section at the end of a manuscript text. , f. 5r, lines 16-18, transcribed below). Contents: Begins (f. 1v, lines 2-4): Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and prayers and peace be upon our Master Muhammad the Prophet Bin Abdullah, the master of the first and the last, and peace be upon his family and all his companions Now, this is a nice book with a lot of knowledge about the basics of marine science Ends (f. 5r, lines 11-15): ...
