Short Versified Treatise (
urjūzah
, see f. 3v, line 5) entitled on arithmetic and geodesy
al-Bāḥah is the source of al-ḥisāb and al-misāḥah
(Al-Baha in the science of mathematics and area, see f. 3v, line 6) by Ibrāhīm ibn ʿUmar al-Biqāʿī (Ibrahim ibn ʿUmar al-Biqāʿī, d. 1480).
The composition of the text was completed on 25 Rabīʿ II 836/19 December 1432 and the present copy was transcribed by its author two days later, on 27 Rabīʿ II 836/21 December 1432 (see

, f. 27r, lines 12-15, transcribed below).
As the title indicates, the work is divided into a first part on arithmetic (Arithmetic, ff. 4r-21v) and a second on geometry (Surface Science, f. 21v-27r), each with an introduction and various sub-sections (sections), the titles of which are rubricated with digits indicating their length (in number of lines). An editorial system employing alphanumeric markers is described on ff. 3v and 5r.
The text is preceded by a biographical notice about the author, written after his death (f. 2r).
Begins (f. 3v, lines 1-3):
Praise be to Allah, the Accountant of the One
Then prayer and peace be upon the Prophet Al-Hashimi Ahmad
His family and companions are his perfume and followers of his tradition in his nation
Ends (f. 27r, lines 7-11):
I wiped the surface of the ground with a knife
في نصف كسيه آتي وما بدأ فا ضرب بطول يأتِ جرم أبدًا
Praise be to Allah for the completeness and excellence of prayer and peace
On the Prophet, his family and his Companions, we do not mention their names in the Book
Allah forgives those who intend it, those who read it, and those who see it
