Notes Arabic translation, probably by Ḥunayn ibn Isḥāq al-‘Ibādī (c 809-873; see colophon Section at the end of a manuscript text. of Item 2, f. 142v, line 8), of Galen’s (Claudius Galenus of Pergamum, 129- c 200) treatise on crises, De crisibus libri III . The manuscript was completed in Damascus 580 AH/AD 1184 by Ibrāhīm ibn Naṣr ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan ibn Munīr al-Kīlānī (?), who made the copy for his own use (see colophon Section at the end of a manuscript text. to Item 3, f. 191v, lines 9-12). Contents: Three chapters (articles): Chapter One (ff. 2v-35r); Chapter Two (ff. 35v-57v); Chapter Three (ff. 58r-82r). Begins (f. 2v, lines 3-6): He said that I do not intend in this book to summarize the meanings of the name Al-Bahran The highest change in illness that pushes the patient to the state that is best for him On the disorder that precedes them or on every complete lapse, whether the disease or on the lapse Whoever is on the path of righteousness only... Ends (f. 82r, lines 13-16): ...If you add these things that we said to what Hippocrates said, it will not reach you Until you come to this path and by offering knowledge to the two seas, I am clear to you A fourth article with which I conclude this book, and I hope that it will enable you to complete what you need For those with discernment and understanding, this third article is sufficient for them, so they do not need four articles Colophon Section at the end of a manuscript text. (f. 82r, lines 17-18): The third article from Galen's book on the two seas was completed, and it is the complete book Praise be to God, as He deserves and deserves great praise
