Anonymous short text in Ottoman Turkish on calculating the first day of each month in the Byzantine (
rūmī
), here called Syriac (
suryānī
), calendar year, accompanied by a summarising table.
The only section in the present volume not written in Arabic, the text nevertheless covers similar content (particularly the calculation of days of the week of the
hijrī
calendar on ff. 51v-52r). The mention of the year 840 (
hijrī
) would appear to date its original composition to 1436-37, while a marginal note indicates a date of annotation of 1091/1680.
The rubricated first few words are a Persian gloss of the first line of the Turkish version.
