Notes
Qāḍīʹzādah al-Rūmī's (Qāḍīʹzādah al-Rūmī's; d. after 1440) commentary on the
Ashkāl al-ta’sīs
(Forms of incorporation) by Shams al-Dīn Muḥammad ibn Ashraf al-Ḥusaynī al-Samarqandī (Shams al-Dīn Muhammad ibn Ashraf al-Husayni al-Samarqandī, d. 1302).
A title line added by a later hand at the head of f. 2v misattributes the text to Qāḍīzāde al-Rūmī's patron the sultan Ulugh Beg (Ag Bey, d. 1449).
The text contains numerous diagrams.
Begins (f. 2v, lines 4-8):
Praise be to God, who created everything according to His measure and destined for it the forms that suit it
He depicted the prayer and blessings upon him, and then in his introduction he depicted the circle of the message and legislation
With his coming, the lost matter of monotheism was true, not the falsehood of the partner and the statues of the Trinity
And the square, and upon his family and companions, are the sides of the corner of prophecy, and its pillars are a base
Marwa and Fatwa...
Ends (ff. 40v, line 16-41r, line 3):
...and that's what we wanted
These are the last five forms
From the second book of assets
For Euclid, let this be so
Last words, thank God for completion
And blessings be upon his Prophet Muhammad and his family
Dear...
Colophon
Section at the end of a manuscript text.
(f. 41r, lines 3-4):
...The book was completed (!) with the help of the king
