Notes Treatise, also known under the title Hidāyat al-ʿāmil ilá al-rubʿ al-kāmil (Guiding the worker to the perfect quarter) on the workings of the quadrant, consisting of an introduction and fifteen chapters ( bāb s). The copy was completed on 24 Jumādá I 1070/6 February 1660 (see colophon Section at the end of a manuscript text. , f. 138v, lines 14-16, transcribed below) by the scribe ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan ibn Zayn al-Dīn al-ʿĀmilī (Ali ibn Muhammad ibn al-Hasan ibn Zayn al-Din al-Amili). Next to the colophon Section at the end of a manuscript text. A reading certificate of Zayn al-Dīn ibn ʿAlī ibn Aḥmad (Zain al-Dīn ibn Ali ibn Ahmad) dated mid-Shaʿbān 960/late July 1553 was copied from the source manuscript (Image of my grandfather’s handwriting, f. 147r, fore edge margin). Beginnings (f. 138v, lines 2-3): Praise be to God, who has drawn on the pages of His creations the conclusive signs and the paths of the fixed planets In the surroundings of the guided one, with omens and twilights... Ends (f. 147r, lines 13-14): ...and in this Destiny is sufficient for whoever God protects, and praise be to God as He deserves His praise and prayers upon Muhammad and his family Colophon Section at the end of a manuscript text. (f. 147r, lines 14-16): ...written by him The least of the servants is Ali bin Muhammad bin Al-Hasan bin Zain Al-Din Al-Amili, may God forgive their bad deeds on the fourteenth of the month Jumada al-Awwal in the year 1070
