Notes An early copy of Muḥyī al-Dīn Yaḥyá ibn Muḥammad ibn Abī al-Shukr al-Maghribī's (Muhyi al-Din Yahya ibn Muhammad ibn Abi al-Shukur al-Maghribi; d. between 680/1281 and 690-1291) revised edition of the Arabic translation of Menelaus of Alexandria's (fl. ca AD 100) Greek treatise on spherical trigonometry known as Kitāb fī al-ashkāl al-kurīyah (A book on spherical shapes) or simply as Kitāb al-ukar (The Book of Al-Akr; Sphaericorum ), based on an earlier translation by Abū ‘Abd Allāh Muḥammad ibn ‘Īsá al-Māhānī (Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Isa al-Mahani; d. ca 888). Contents: Chapter 1 (ff. 63v-65v); Chapter 2 (Article 2; ff. 65v-67r); Chapter 3 (Article 3; ff. 67r-v) The text appears to be defective at its end. Beginnings (f. 63b, lines 1-2): ...This is the book of Manalaos in the Glorious Forms, Pedaling the Poor Servant to God, Muhammad ibn Abi al-Shukur al-Maghribi, the first form. The script is so small and hastily written as to be almost illegible at the end. There are 117 diagrams of triangles projected on spheres. Folio 68r contains a diagram apparently unrelated to the texts before or after it.
