Arabic version of the
They split a cylinder
(The Book of the Qur'an and the Covenant) by the mathematician (Archimedes; fl. 3rd century BC), revised by Thābit ibn Qurrah (Thābit ibn Qurrah; d. 901) and presented here in the edition of Naṣīr al-Dīn al-Ṭūsī (Nasir al-Dīn al-Tusi; d. 1274) along with a commentary based largely on that by Eutocius of Ascalon (Authioqius al-Ascalani; d. ca 540), the
Commentarii in books of sphaera and cylinder
. . . . For a history of the edition, see the editor's preface (ff. 118v, lines 2-119v, line 6). The text ends with an appendix by the mathematician and astronomer Abū Sahl al-Qūhī (2nd half of the 10th century).
The diagrams are collected on fold outs on ff. 143r, 164r, 178r and 205r.
