Notes Alexandrian Summary (Mosques of the Alexandrians) of Galen's (Galen; d. ca 216) De temperamentis libri III (Περὶ κράσεων βιβλία γ'; in the mood) translated from the Greek by Ḥunayn ibn Isḥāq (Hunayn ibn Ishaq; d. 873). This copy was collated with a copy owned by Ibn al-Tilmīdh (Ibn al-Talib; d. ca 1164), chief physician of the ‘Aḍudī Hospital in Baghdad and author of the Baghdad Formulary (Aqrabādīn is the city of peace; see British Library, MS Or 8293). Beginnings (f. 19v, lines 2-5): The entire book of Galen on mood according to opinion The Alexandrians, translated by Hunayn bin Ishaq The starter of the first pans of it There are two types of temperament, and that is because it is moderate. It is not moderate Ends (f. 51r, lines 10-12): In this one body, whether he heats it or cools it The oil of roses is intended to cool the ailments that are accompanied by heat And warming the ills that have the advantage of cooling. Colophon Section at the end of a manuscript text.
