Notes
Short collection of helpful notes (benefits) on therapeutics by Ibrāhīm najl Aḥmad al-Shāfi‘ī al-Sīwī (Ibrahim, son of Ahmad al-Shafi’i al-Sīwī), nicknamed Dhū al-Shawq (Dhū al-Shawq, see f. 218r, line 2, transcribed below).
The second half of the treatise contains mnemonic verses (f. 219r-v).
F. 220v contains a long note on treatments for headache.
Beginnings (f. 218r, lines 2-3):
Raji, may God forgive him, says, “Dhu al-Faqar Ibrahim, the son of Ahmad al-Shafi’i al-Siwi, and with al-Dasouki, his title is blessed, Dhu al-Shuq.”
Praise be to God, the Most Gracious, the Healer, the Ever-Knowing, the Kindness who bestows His kindness, and the causes (!) that benefit her, if the Majestic One wills.
Ends (f. 219v, lines 16-22):
Whoever organizes the benefits that are mentioned above in a well-paced sermon, and I ask God to pay me back
