Treatise by Ibrāhīm ibn Sinān ibn Thābit ibn Qurrah (Ibrahim ibn Sinan ibn Thabit ibn Qurrah, d. 946) on the three types of conic section: the hyperbola, parabola and ellipse.
The diagrams are missing in the text and may be found on ff. 194v-201v.
Beginnings (fol. 32v, lines 5-8):
Ibrahim bin Sinan said: These forms that we mentioned here do not take the path that we follow
We covered it in thirteen articles because we did what we did in that one by way of analysis and synthesis
As for here, we use only the method of proof in what we have explained, and the same applies to the rest of the matters we describe regarding machines
