Notes Inventory of pharmaceutical ingredients, arranged in alphabetical order. Each entry includes the item's humoral properties and uses. This is followed by a short list of laxative ingredients and preparations (in the mention of the medicinal problem, f. 78r-80v) and two pages of medical recipes and notes in Arabic and Persian (f. 81r-81v). The copy was transcribed 'during the months of' 984, probably Rabīʿ I or II (May-July 1576) given its placement between two other dated texts (see colophon Section at the end of a manuscript text. , f. 80v, lines 9-11 transcribed below). Although the present copy does not acknowledge its authorship, a text by this name is frequently found in copies of the collections of medical writings by Muhammad ibn ʿAlī Najīb al-Dīn al-Samarqandī (Najib al-Din al-Samarqandi, Muhammad ibn Ali, d. 1222). title al-Najībīyah al-Samarqandīyah . . . . Begins (f. 68v, lines 2-4): Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, and peace be upon Prophet Muhammad and his family The Prophets and Messengers mentioned the singular 'Adwiyah used and its wishes attributed to it Famous as the letter of the thousand keys of the king Har Yabs.
