Notes Treatise on dietetics for those in health by Najīb al-Dīn Abū Ḥāmid Muḥammad ibn ‘Alī ibn ‘Umar al-Samarqandī (Najīb al-Dīn Abu Hamid Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Umar al-Samarqandī, d. 1222). The treatise was copied by ‘Umar ibn Muḥammad ibn Sallām ibn ‘Abd Allāh al-Irbīlī (Omar ibn Muhammad ibn Salam ibn Abdullah al-Irbili) for his own use (see colophon Section at the end of a manuscript text. , f. 123r, lines 18-20, transcribed below). Beginnings (f. 56v, lines 2-7): Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and may blessings and peace be upon all His prophets, he said Sheikh Al-Imam Al-Ajmal, the complete scholar, Professor Najeeb Al-Dawla, religion and religion Purify Islam and Muslims, the deceit of kings and sultans, the pride of the virtuous, unite the East And the West with the coughs is Abu Al-Hamid Muhammad bin Ali bin Omar Al-Samarqandi, may God have mercy on him When God Almighty created man with a more just temperament than all animals, He did so Moderation is broad rather than limited to a narrow limit Ends (f. 123r, lines 14-20): ...There is no secret of strengthening and refreshing the soul, spirit, and body With delicious, delicious food scents suitable for all people far from Narratives (?) and strong qualities, so they should be listened to and feared When there is a need to strengthen the heart and brain, and when weakness and fainting become more and more severe From using all other good scents...
