Notes A compendium of medicine composed in a question and answer format, by Saʻīd ibn Abī al-Khayr ibn ʿIsá al-Ṭabīb al-Masīḥī (Sa`id ibn Abi al-Khair ibn Issa, the Christian physician, b. 1177, d. 1259 or 1260). Ibn al-Masīḥī was famous for healing the caliph al-Nāṣir (Al-Nasir, reg. 1180–1225) from a serious illness in 1201. An abbreviated version of this text is also found in many copies under the title Intikhāb al-iqtiḍāb (Choice of brevity).
