Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti, may God prolong his life and benefit us with his knowledge. And peace be upon His servants whom He has chosen. And after, I received a question on Thursday, the sixth of Jumada al-Awwal, in the year eight hundred and eighty-eight. The book of information arrived in Aleppo, so he stopped at it. He agreed with my opinion in it, that Gabriel is the ambassador between God and his fathers..., Colophon: [The Book of the Brilliant] and the good ending is that He is over everything sanctified -- [The Book of Enlightenment] And he prayed to God upon Our Master Muhammad and upon his family and companions, and may peace be upon him abundantly until the Day of Judgment... A treatise on the superiority of the Prophet over all people and his ability to give an opinion as to the outward behavior of man as well as his inner motives., 2. fol. 27a-46b: Kitāb Tanwīr al-ḥalak fī imkān ruʼyat al-Nabī wa-al-malak. On the possibility of seeing the Prophet and the angels during sleep or wakefulness., 3. fol. 47a-74b: Taʻrīf al-fiʼah bi-ajwibat al-asʼilah al-miʼah. A collection of answers to moral and religious questions. The treatise discusses ninety-four questions. The answers to the first nine questions are missing from this copy., 4. fol. 71a-74a: [Poem], 5. fol. 74a-91a: Tuḥfat al-anjāb bi-masʼalat al-sunjāb. A legal treatise discussing the question whether or not the skin of the squirrel is made ceremonially clean after tanning., 6. fol. 91b-110a: al-Iʻlām bi-ḥukm ʻĪsá ʻalayhi al-salām. A treatise on the second coming of Christ, composed 888/1483 in answer to the question about the law with which Christ will judge people, whether it will be the Prophetʼs law or his own law., 7. fol. 110b-112b: Lubs al-yalab fī al-jawāb ʻan īrād ḥalab. An answer to an objection to the author’s saying in Kitāb al-Iʻlām that Gabriel is the only messenger between God and His Prophets. | Type II (with flap) binding in brown leather and paper.
