Notes The original poems of ʻAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Yaḥyá al-Ānisī followed by selections from various well-known poets and others less prominent. It also contains a quotation from Taʼrīkh [Abū Bakr] Kānī (1712-1792) listing the reigns of the caliphs from Abū Bakr to al-Mustaʻṣim billāh; another quotation from the Murūj al-Dhahab of al-Masʻūd (d. 956); and still another quotation from al-Ṣādiḥ al-Gharīb [?]. | Collation: Paper ; fol. 290 ; catchwords in red ink ; between fol. 139 and 140 are 8 blank folios ; between fol. 177 and 179 are 2 blank folios ; between fol. 279 and 280 are two blank folios ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals., Description: Written in Fārisī and other scripts ; headings and verse separators in red and yellow ink ; MS in fair condition, binding partially detached from text block ; title page oriented upside-down to remainder of text., Layout: 14-27 lines per page. Number of columns varies ; text runs parallel with back of cover., Marginal glosses. On folio 164 is a poem by ʻAlī ibn Muḥammad al-ʻĪsá written on a chess-board and readable only by following the movement of the ʻʻknightʼʼ in the game. Title page has a statement that the poetical works of ʻAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Yaḥyá al-Ānisī were originally compiled by his son Muḥammed, and on folio 53 we learn that the son died before the father., Ms. codex., Title from title page (fol. 1a)., Ending: ما انا عادم الجواب ولکن * ما من الفضل ان تجاب الکلاب, Incipit: بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم وبه استعين. قال القاضي العلامة وجيه الدين عبدالرحمن بن يحيى | Contemporaneous binding in oblong or safīnah format in red leather.
