A collection of correspondence of Ahmet Resmî Efendi. The main text ends on fol. 49b (see explicit). To this is attached on fol. 51-61 a collection of anonymous letters, a sampler, written on a different paper but in a very similar hand and style as the main text. | Ms. composite codex (see contents below)., Title from fol. 1a., The ms. dates between 1775, which is the latest date on the letters, and 1801, an ownership date (see ownership statement below)., 17 lines per page. Written in a small ruqʻah in black ink with use of red for rubrication. On fol. 1b-2a the text is inside a frame outlined in red and black ink. Fol. 1a has a simple head piece, roughly drawn in several shades of purple watercolor with some gold. On fol. 2b- 16a the text is inside a single line frame in black. Catchwords on the verso of each leaf. Glazed European paper with a green hue (the paper of the additional text at the end is cream with frame ruled margins). The text is interrupted from fol. 39b-41a: fol. 39b-40a have verses of poetry added in a later hand and fol. 40b-41a are blank., Incipit: دولتلو رسمى احمد افندى افندمز حضرتلرينه عثمان پاشا حضرتلرينك دفتردار ... يازيلان مكتوب صورتيدر سنه 1187, Explicit: ومكتوم وحجت قاطعهء حياتى محصى ومحتوم اولمغين | Dark blue glossy paper embossed in a flower pattern covering an original binding in paper and leather. Envelope flap. Endleaves in green tissue paper. | Ownership statement on fol. 1a in the name of Ali Rıza ibn Süleyman, dated 21st of Ramaḍān 1215 (1801), and accompanied by his stamp., Ownership statement on fol. 1a in the name of Mehmet ... [?], a grandson of Şerif Paşa [?], accompanied by his stamp., Slip enclosed inside the lower cover: "Purchased from funds given by the Grant and Carnegie Foundations".
