A commentary on the famous grammatical poem, al-Alfīyah. The author of this commentary is the son of the elder Ibn Mālik. | Ms. codex., Title from title page (fol. 1a)., Marginal notes and glosses. Immediately after the colophon occurs a statement that this MS was copied from another which was made in Baalbek 693 [1294]. The statement adds that Baalbek was destroyed 1011 [1602/3]. Kabīkab (invocation against bookworms) on title page. Hadith on this page. 232b., Collection: Paper ; fol. 232 ; catchwords ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals., Layout: 23 lines per page., Description: Rubricated ; overwriting and other use of red; vowel signs; watermarks (three crescents); MS in fair condition, although most folios are loose., Incipit: In the name of God... Block-pressed mandorla with pendants and blind-stamped decorative edging on covers. Similar decoration on flap. Block-pressed design on pastedowns. Appears to never have been sewn.
