Perhaps identical with the authorʼs Luʻluʼīyāt, which according to Ḥājjī Khalīfah, Kashf al-ẓunūn, col. 1571 (ed. Flügel V, 136, no. 11245) consists of 135 bābs. In the present ms. there are 105 unnumbered extant bābs, of which the first three are:, Chapter on dishonor of the world and keenness on it:(fol. 1b)., Chapter on rejecting and disparaging the world:(3a)., Chapter on the virtue of asceticism in the world:(3b)., The last three extant chapters are:, Chapter on mentioning the verses of substitution:(143a)., Chapter on struggling against oneself and desires And its remedies: (144b)., Chapter on mentioning justice and injustice: (145b)., The ms. AS 4801 (Brockelmann, GAL, S I, 358, 6b: no. 1) seems to contain a fragment of this work: the chapter-headings quoted by Massignon, Recueil p. 25 correspond to those on fol. 93a-134b of the present ms. See also Brockelmann, GAL, I, 216 (6b) and S I, 293 (6a)., Each bāb begins with the words Abu Muti’ said e.g.fol. 3a: ...Chapter: Rejecting the world and disparaging it. Abu Muti’ said: Muhammad ibn Hisham al-Sarkhasi told us. He said: Ali ibn Mardas told us... on the authority of al-Dahhak. He said: They said, “O Messenger of God.” He is the one who has renounced the world. He said, “The one who has not forgotten the graves.”
