Notes Reworking of al-Jāmiʻ al-ṣaghīr by al-Shaybānī, a work on Ḥanafī fiqh. | Ms. codex., Title from title page (fol. 1a)., Incipit: Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon the best of creation, Muhammad, his family, and his pure and pure companions. The eminent Sheikh, Imam Hussam al-Din Omar bin Abdul Aziz al-Bukhari, may God have mercy on him, said: As for what follows, our sheikhs, may God have mercy on them, used to venerate this book and give precedence to all other books. Explicit: It becomes one of the obligations of private individuals, and if it is bought for an unknown and specified price, it is forfeited. حق الشفعة, Physical description: 13 lines per page. Written in black ink with use of red. Light cream paper with laid lines and pulp visible. Marginal and interlinear ḥāshiyah. Several inscriptions on fol. 1a, including a note on the number of leaves in the copy. Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover: "116". Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "Ḥāʼ 944"., Origin: Copied by ʻAlī ibn ʻUthmān in Ramaḍān 873 (colophon, fol. 211b). | Modern binding, consisting of dark purple cloth over pasteboards for upper and lower covers. Light purple paper pastedowns and free endpaper. | Ownership statement in the name of Aḥmad Najīb ibn Aḥmad Ṭāhir, dated Rabīʻ I [12]81[Aug.-Sept. 1864] on fol. 1a.
