Notes The first volume of a commentary explaining the difficult traditions found in the Ṣaḥīḥs of al-Bukhārī and Muslim ibn al-Ḥajjāj. The work is also known as Sharḥ al-masānid. | Ms. codex., Title from later caption (fol. 1b)., A few marginal notes. Faded title on lower edge of text block. Inscriptions, erased signatures, and a later title on folio 1a. It appears from the preface that the work was compiled from the lectures of al-Jawzī by one of his pupils. Inscriptions on folios 221b-222b., Collation: Paper ; fol. 222 ; quires signed: 2-21 (first and last folios not marked) ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals., Layout: 17 lines per page., Description: Some vowel signs ; lacking some iʻjām diacritical marks ; lightly tinted pink paper ; MS in good condition but the first folio is defective. Rare., Origin: Probably from the XIIIth century., Incipit: بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم قري علي شيخنا شيخ الاسلام الامام العالم الاوحد الفقيه الحافظ ناصر الحق ... اما بعد فان الله تعالي حفظ کتابنا ما لم يحفظ كتابا قبله ..., Ending: كمل الجز الاول بحمد الله وعونه يتلوه في الثاني كشف المشكل من مسند عبد الله بن مغقل | Later? type III (without flap) binding in brown leather.
