Both texts appear to be written in the same hand., Incipit: [Awakening the Sleepers] In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and may blessings and peace be upon Muhammad and his entire family. And after this, this is a message intended to wake up the sleepers and give understanding to the minors... -- [Thukr of the Compassionate] In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to God, who made men guardians of women and commanded them to admonish them... And after, the jurists agreed on the assumption of knowledge of the situation on Everyone who believes..., Colophon: [Awakening the Sleepers] The honorable copy was completed with the help of God Almighty, may God Almighty’s prayers and peace be upon him -- [A Savings for the Compassionate] It was compiled with the help of God Almighty and before the Great Awakening on the Day of Tarwiyah in the year nine hundred and ninety-nine of the Prophet’s Hijra, may God Almighty’s prayers and peace be upon him, as well as its writing at that time in the year 1134 | 1. fol. 1b-4b: Īqāẓ al-nāʼimīn / lil-fāḍil al-Barkawī. A short treatise asserting that piety and good works for utilitarian ends are void and bad., 2. fol. 5a-12a: Dhukhr al-mutaʼahhilīn / lil-Barkawī.
