Now here are the words... In dissecting the problems of Al-Mukhtasar in the science of prosody... -- [Explanation of the letter Al-Samarqandi] In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, and in Him we seek help, says the poor servant to the one who enfolds his Lord, the handcuffed Issam al-Din bin Muhammad. This so-called Andalusian version of the science of prosody was completed by... Muhammad Amin bin Abdullah, may God have mercy on him for those who called him Al-Mughra - [Explanation of the letter Al-Samarqandi] We finished this honorable version on the morning of Monday, twelve days before the blessed Sha’ban, and I am in need of God Muhammad Amin bin Abdullah in the year 1282 A.H. 12 | 1. fol. 1b-38a: Hādhā Kitāb fī al-ʻarūḍ ismuhu Andalusīyah.
