The book is dedicated to al-Amīr al-Khiḍr, the governor of Egypt in the time of the Sultan Muḥammad III, who reigned 1003-1012 [1595-1603]., Title from title page (fol. 1a)., Colophon: We ask God for success for us, for our parents, for those who taught us, for those who attended us, and for all Muslims. Indeed, He will soon respond to prayers, Amen May God’s blessings be upon our master Muhammad and his family and all his companions, Amen. May God Almighty forgive whoever wrote this copy and all Muslims, Amen.
