I seek help. Praise be to God, and sufficient, and peace be upon His servants whom He has chosen. And after this, this is an honorable, gentle, and pleasant composition. I called it Tashnif al-Isma’... and he arranged it in an introduction, two chapters, and a conclusion. ..., Colophon: And the completion of writing it was on Friday morning, after fourteen days of the holy month of Shaban, which is one of the months of the year 1270, two hundred and seventy and one thousand after the Hijra of the one who has glory and honor, may God bless him and grant him peace, and that was at the hands of the poorest of the servants to his Lord, Al-Wahhab Ibn Khattab. O God, forgive him and his parents and whoever was the reason for its abrogation and whoever looked at it and prayed.
