A few inscriptions on folio 3a., Collection: Paper ; fol. 123; catchwords ; Modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals., Layout: 13 lines per page; frame-ruled in red., Description: Rubricated ; watermarks (crown-star-crescent, countermark roman-alphabet initials) ; MS in good condition., Decoration: Illuminated headpiece in red and black., Origin: According to colophon copy completed Saturday 3 Jumādá al-Ūlá 1090 in Marʻash by Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad (fol. 123a)., Incipit: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, and in Him we seek help. Praise be to God, who has guided us to know Him... As for what follows, these are contracts arranged from The Sunnahs of the Master of Messengers and the Imam of the Pious..., Colophon: The completion of this honorable version, which is the law of Islam, occurred on the day of the third [A] in the afternoon in the month of Jumada al-Awwal in the town of Marash in the locality... on the date of the year 1090 in the hands of the weak, guilty servant in need of the mercy of his rich Lord, Ahmed bin Muhammad. May God forgive him and my parents and be kind to him and to them. O God, forgive me and my parents and all the believing men and women and Muslims. And the Muslim women, the living among them and the dead, by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the Merciful. It has been done. It has been done Contemporaneous? type II (with flap) binding in brown leather. Blind-stamped mandorla and blind-tooled edging on covers.
