Notes A commentary on the Dālīyah Ode, a eulogy of the Prophet by ʻAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad al-Ḥijāzī, known as Ibn Qaḍīb al-Bān. | Collation: Paper; fol. i + 48 + i ; catchwords ; folios numbered 95-146 in Hindi-Arabic numerals indicating that this text was likely part of a larger codex in the past; Modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals., Description: Text in red and commentary in black; important words and verse separators in red; MS in excellent condition., Layout: 19 lines per page; Frame-ruled in red., Marginal notes and glosses. The present copy was written in the lifetime of the author and probably by him., Ms. codex., Origin: According to colophon authorship completed [1] Dhū al-Ḥijjah1149 and MS copied 1164 by its compiler., Title from title page (fol. 1a)., Colophon: This copy was completed in one hundred and sixty-four. From the emigration of someone who had pride and honor at the hands of his university, the most despicable of the people, I hope for the intercession of someone who was born in Umm Al-Qura, may God bless him and grant him peace. Year 1164, Incipit: In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. Praise be to God who organized the affairs of His servants as He wanted Later half-bound type III (without flap) binding in brown material and brown spotted paper.
