Notes ff. 105. 251 x 168; 183 x 115 mm. 25 lin. 697 H., Sulaymān ibn Abī Bakr., An acephalous work similar in scope to al-Samarqandīʼs Mukhtalaf al-riwāyah; the method of arrangement agrees with that described by al-Samarqandī as being peculiar to the works of his predecessors - he says in the pref. of Mukhtalij al-riwāyah (ms. 3677, fol. 1b): And I draw a chapter on the disagreement of each of the imams according to the order that some of our teachers arranged... except that they cited all the books in each chapter, and I cite all the chapters in each book. Accordingly, the present work assigns a bāb to each of the imams, and subdivides each bāb according to the usual order of law books: Kitāb al-Ṣalāh. Kitāb al-Zakāh, etc., 9 kurrāsahs are missing at the beginning; on fol. 9a the end of bāb Muḥammad (i.e., al-Shaybānī) and the beginning of a new bāb: That the saying of Abu Hanifa is contrary to the saying of Abu Yusuf, Chapter on the saying of Abu Yusuf contrary to the saying of Muhammad: (14a)., Chapter on Saying Zufar contrary to the saying of our companions: (39a)., Lacuna after fol. 50; the last bāb begins on foll. 94b: Chapter on the answers of Malik bin Anas, Explicit (fol. 105b): There was a disagreement between us and Al-Shafi’i regarding entering the Sacred Mosque and our argument and the answer regarding attachment to a text that was mentioned in the chapter on Al-Shafi’i, may God have mercy on him, the book has been completed.
