Commentary on Mukhtaṣar al-Qudūrī, by Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad al-Qudūrī (d. 428/1037). | Ms. codex., Title supplied by cataloger., 33 lines per page. Written in small naskh in black ink with use of red. The text is framed within a red and black border on the follo. 1b. Illuminated headpiece (ʻunwān) in gold, blue and red on fol. 1b. Fol. ii-iii are later additions, with table of contents on fol. (ii)b. Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover: "Ḥāʼ 171". Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "Ḥāʼ 645"., Incipit: Praise be to God, and there is no power except in God, and my success is only in God and prayer... This is an explanation of Al-Quduri’s summary, which I collected with brief words and apparent phrases that include many meanings... The Book of Purity. The book in the language is the plural. It is said that I wrote the thing, i.e. I collected it. Explicit: It is twenty-three, and it is seven and two-thirds remains Fifteen-thirds, which is his share of the estate, and the same applies to every heir, and God knows best. The letter has been fulfilled, with the praise of God Almighty, His help, and His good success. Brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers, fore-edge flap and envelope flap. Both covers have a central gold stamped mandorla with two pendants on the vertical axis and a border consisting of blind-tooled fillets with three small round stamps on each inner corner. Similar border on the envelope flap, with smaller gold stamp on its point. Blue-dyed paper pastedowns. | On fol. 1a: note explaining that this copy was taken at the Sūq al-Sulṭānīyah on Muḥarram 1, 1241 [August 16, 1825], signed Aghā(?)-yi Ḥājjī ---? Aghāʹzādah(?) ---?
