Autograph copy of a collection of popular songs and poems with several musical measures. The MS falls into seven parts. The first is on the science of music (al-wasīqah); the second contains selections of choice poetry; the third is a takhmīs; the fourth contains songs in the dū-bayt measure; the fifth, muwashshaḥāt; the sixth, jazal; and the seventh, miscellaneous selections. | Collation: Paper ; fol. 115 ; catchwords ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals., Decoration: Simple illuminated headpiece in red, purple and black ink (fol. 1b). Contains diagrams., Description: Headings and verse separators in red ; MS in good condition., Layout: 22-36 lines per page ; text runs parallel with back of cover., Marginal notes. On the inside of the front cover and on back of the first page are several riddles in verse. The MS contains a number of Turkish musical measures. After the colophon is a statement by a later hand marking the end of the Safīnah.
